CCS believes that God is the author of wisdom. For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding Prov. 2:6 We are grateful God has made us with amazing intellectual abilities and we believe we are to steward them well by learning well.

CCS believes that education should be developmentally appropriate. Just because a child can memorize the presidents at age three, should they? Should math and reading be pushed earlier and earlier? Is there a link between increased anxiety levels in our children and increased pressure at school? We believe that children should learn when it makes sense to keep them from becoming unnecessarily frustrated.

CCS believes that there are many ways to learn. Auditory, visual, kinesthetic, inside, outside, standing, sitting, acting, immersion, teaching, experience, reading/writing, social/linguistic, logical/analytical, solitary, nature...and on and on. Truly, no two children are alike and as such neither should their learning be.

CCS believes that the best learning takes place outside a classroom. We believe that it is the real-world activities and experience that cement what is being taught inside the classroom and piques their interest to learn more.

CCS believes that success in life is more than an A+. Trying hard on a test is great and we encourage that. We also know and believe that they need to learn diligence and hard work, a humble but positive attitude and how to treat others. Together with a good education those attributes will take them far.

CCS believes that families are important. As teachers our influence is secondary to that of parents. You are critical in your child’s education. We don’t wish school to get in the way of family and that is one big reason we don’t assign homework.
